What would be the advantage of NOT closing it?
Threads could be open for anyone to read.
Posting would be for members only.Moderators could at least ask for evidence of work from membership candidates.

i say ban everyone, make a list of all of the accounts that have been active within the last week, set up a bracket system for one on one photoshop battles and have the winner be the first member of this new society. He will have two invites. The two he invites will have one invite to give out, as will everyone who is invited from then on. If someone you invite is banned as a result of spam, you are both banned for life. Users with account names starting with A-M will post on odd days and N-Z will post on even days. Account names beginning with a number or non-letter character will not be able to post unless there is a full moon. Anyone who posts in the Politics thread is automatically put on 3day probation. Users posting NSFW images in non-designated threads (NSFW or COTD) will be redirected to lemonparty.com every time they try to sign in for the subsequent month.
