No. There's kids outta school that would like to be a part of here plus folks who just don't know about it.
I think there should be some kind of basis on which to become a member. Like you must have a website and you must have an email address that's coming from your website AND it's gotta be in your public profile. This will get rid of trolls, spammers, etc who don't really belong in a design forum.
Make some folks moderators, like ukit, utopian, etc...folks that have been here a while and actually contribute.

i don't like the idea of a closed membership at all. more requirements for signing up perhaps. but discussions always require new blood and new ideas. shutting that out is basically saying let the site die.

The design community is toast, no self respecting designer would waste their time here anymore. Nothing at all to be gained.
