Buying 11 albums for 1¢ from Columbia House and agreeing to buy 5 more over the next 3 years.Accidentally forgetting to mark “don’t want it” and return mail one month and receiving some album I thought was uncool. Calling the 1-800 number and repeatedly gaslighting them into saying it never arrived.
In hindsight, I’m sure the person on the phone was rolling their eyes. I was about 11 years old, probably still had a child voice. But, they refunded that purchase.
After completing the contract, signed up again under an initialed name. Thinking I was soooo sneaky and scamming them.
What I didn’t learn until recently is that if you were underage, the contract was unenforceable. The company knew it and didn’t care because it was still profitable in aggregate. I could have simply not paid. Multiple times. But as an 11-year-old, a threatening letter would have had me thinking I was going to prison.

anyone know where i can buy a pair of those over the shoe adult rollerskates that were popular at roller rinks in the late 80s? cant even find a pitcure of them online
