About 3 months ago I was up to a pack and half a day! I slowly weened myself down to 3 a day. This is the first day @ work smoke free. *pat myself on the shoulder. Now, I just have to wait for an RFP to hit. That will be the real test.

I'm thinking of picking up the nasty habit just so I can take 5-10 minute "smoke breaks" every 45-50 minutes like the rest of my coworkers.
Or since my "habit" is drinking should I just do shots in front of our office for 5-10 minutes every hour all day long?

One day in?
Crikey, far too soon to start counting chickens.
.
Quite what counting chickens has to do with quitting smoking, I'm not sure.
Anyway, best of luck to you.

once you get free of it, don't let your brain talk you into 'just one smoke', as that single cigarette starts the slide back into smoking again.
brains are crafty. don't let them outsmart you.

I never really started. I watched my grandfather carry around an oxygen tank his past few years of his life before dying of emphysema and my father smoked until he had a heard attack in his late 40's. That's enough to make you never really want to start.

That's nuts - I crushed out what is hopefully my last smoke last night. I ran out, too lazy to go get another pack, and said to myself, "fuck it. why not quit."
I even went out on a smoke break today with the smokers and just stood and talked. What's weird is I didn't even crave it. Of course I'm going to have to stop drinking for a bit, because I know once I get a few drinks in me, it's probably game over. But quitting drinking too wouldn't be so bad right now either...
Godspeed brutha.

Im on the Champix, and have no desire for a cigarette. Weird dreams though. All am doing a bit of a FebFast - so not drinking until March. All seems to be working fine at the moment!
