so, I don‘t know shit about skateboarding... out of ignorance and curiosity: can anyone explain to me what makes this guy special? looks like he‘s doing the same two tricks over and over again (jumping over something while flipping the board, sliding along the edge of something)...

i like how he does everything with so much speed.
and the combos. athlete.- yeah, the speed he has is crazy.lvl_13

2012 will be the year everybody will be tired of Adidas.

Adidas never should have got into Skateboarding period.
Talk about jumping on a bandwagon.

"Talk about jumping on a bandwagon in a really excitable fashion on your little wheelie board, then jumping off the other end, doing some really gimpy little jumps up and down on the sidewalk like a four year old jacked up on sweeties, then jumping back on the bandwagon again, but with your arms all hunched up and your elbows sticking out awkwardly, then a daring half-a-foot sheer drop off the other end of the bandwagon, then some frantic left leg acceleration action to get you to the kerb, then a really enthusiastic 5" leap up the kerb, then flip your little wheelie board round, then back off the bandwagon but this time a bit off balance so you end up on your arse which is cool because all your wheelieboard buddies can make hang-ten symbols and shout 'WOH GNARLY, DUDE".
- Nothing against skateboarding, but that Dennis Busenitz vid is FUCKING LAME.Horp

hes technically not doing the same trick over and over again. I've skated for years and even participated in several comps when I was younger. His speed combination and consistency is what makes him very good but what looks like the same trick is actually a variation based on his stance and approach and these are all factors that make the same trick become much more difficult. So example I'm a righty to I ride goofy (right foot forward). So now i perform a kick flip ok cool but if I were to change my stance and perform the same trick but left foot forward it is now consider a switch kickflip. kinda like batting lefty - much more difficult. then other factors like popping of the nose of the board (fakie) or doing that switch (nollie) it goes on and on but if he were to do a nollie kickflip its popping off the nose in a switch stance. Very difficult even for sessioned pros. Sorry for the story but just thought I share.

watching the vid he does several nollie switch combos. Those who have never boarded would never notice the change but thats fine youre not expected too but thats also why skateboarding will never be really big. yea its kinda big now but it will never be on the level of most extreme sports because there are a lot of things that go unseen by regular folk.
