Say if they get you a job for U$S 120K... how much do you think they'd be making for that?
Also, do they get more the higher your salary?

Typically in London, recruiters ive spoken to can get anywhere from 15/20% of the candidates wage as their remuneration for sourcing.
Maybe the higher up the ladder the candidates fit, ie. Director etc the more you can ask as a recruiter.

One month of your salary.

I think it varies, but I heard it was about 15% of the first years renumeration, sometimes including bonus. So, not knowing if you get a bonus, it'd be $18k.

Their fees are typically 15%-20% your first year's salary.

I knew a guy who was a headhunter... he placed Chief Financial Officers at clothing and consumer goods companies.... it was a very , very up-and-down business for him... he's retired these days, but spending lots of time on facebook may be part of this gig, as figuring out the invisible cultural "fit" of somebody to a job is a huge thing, if the candidate gets fired or isn't stellar, the headhunter's just lost a TON of money..... and a lot of reputation, future gigs, etc....

back in the dot-com-douchebag days, they wanted 35% of the placements salary
