Is anyone using it?
I'm trying it, briefly. Seems to sync well between apple products, as expected. However the option to send from an alternate email address seems to have gone, making all outgoing mail . Seems a big feature to have removed IMO.

All going well for me so far though the other email accounts I had with he family pack aren't accepting Passwords to send mail out even though it is the right password I'm typing in for that account.
Photostream is really smart across all my devices though it would be nice to be able to delete pics off the photostream folder.

I'm using it and the biggest disappointment I have is that there is no dropbox style folder to just save whatever you want to "the cloud". syncing "documents" meant you can only sync iWork doc's. who even uses any of those programs?
other than that I'm very happy to have synced bookmarks, reading list, and reminders in ical. I don't have a iPhone, iPad, etc so I guess I don't get the full benefits of iCloud.
- apple tried to buy dropbox not that long agoGnash
- well can't they implement it on their own? or do they not have a right to? just a little folder I can through files in :/genfourth
- they used have iDisk - which was similar. I'm sure they will add that soon. although it might be a payed serviceGnash

- I see. wish I could actually use this 5gb. so far I've used 0kb on it. can't complain about free I guessgenfourth

Aside from losing iDisk and iWeb I haven't notice much difference between iCloud and my old .mac/.me account.

I am using it and only seem to benefit from syncing bookmarks. Can't figure out how Notes are synced. Don't need to sync email with it because that's already working fine with gmail on my devices and computer.
What am I missing here/

I am not using it. I have chosen the goog apps route and while I was a slow starter I absolutely love it now.
- yeah the only thing is you can't sync reminders/checklist through google
genfourth - define sync? If there is only one copy it does not need to sync...manonthestreet
- when I make a reminder on my mbp in ical on a google account it doesn't show up on my macprogenfourth
- Ahh...I do not sync...I only use the goog app...don't touch, mail, ical, etc.manonthestreet
- Im the opposite and can't use a browser for that type of stuff. is there a google app that covers all that?genfourth

I was looking forward to being able not to have any iOS Apps on my computer, they take about 10GB now—I don't think that is really doable unless I don't ever sync.
To me it seems iCloud mostly confuses people.

I don't "get" what the purpose of photo stream is. Seems pretty retarded to me. I thought I was going to be able to back up all my photos to my mac wirelessly, but it's only the last 30 days? huh?
Of course this is after I upgraded to 15G and paid for an iPhoto update. Waste of money if you ask me. Unless I'm missing something? What's the benefit of having more space?

Seems like iDooDoo to me.

photo stream is slightly more convenient than uploading pics from the phone. You just need to transfer them before 30 days is up or they go!
I think it's crazy not to be able to send from own domain email addresses though. It could be a useful tool for freelancers / small businesses but instead it's just another Hotmail / Gmail / generic address.

Generally iCloud has all sorts of features that are sadly over complicated. I thought the whole ethos of Apple was to make things simple? All I see is confusion. Don't get me wrong, I have iOS5 and Lion, and all the other shit, but It seems generally no different from MobileMe, without iWeb and iDisk functionality.
There are other people doing these functions better elsewhere i'm afraid.

How do I wirelessly sync my music that wasn't bought from the iTunes store?
