wtf new york comic con logo?

Not a very creative logo for a most creative event. Popped in the lobby on Saturday, it was like Halloween on steroids.
With a full roster of hot comic artists who can do some amazing original comic flavored typography why did they go with this phoned in solution? At least mix up the type with another flavor, not the same face for every single word.
