From comments on the WSJ story:
"Strongly feel he died earlier itself but revealed now. That is the reason iphone5 wasn't released - a contingency plan to have something in pipeline to keep the revenue / stock going and also give time to the management to strategize next thing."
- this is stupid, i think. Impossible.benfal99

- Agree that it's not what happened I mean.HijoDMaite
- I don't think so iPhone 4S is good transition towards iPhone5. Apple also has to de-Stalinize itself.kgvs72

I will be surpised if he didnt have/leave a plan in place for the next 10 or so years, he was always looking forwards. Always Inspiring.

I feel like he didn't groom anyone to take over, feel like he didn't trust/or think anyone was up to snuff, he was fighting till the end, refused to accept that he would be leaving soon and that anyone should or could take his place.
- There might not be a next "Steve", but he built the absolute best team around him.Nathan_Adams

'Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn't matter to me ... Going to bed at night saying we've done something wonderful... that's what matters to me.'

'Siri' should be rename 'Steve' with the actual voice of Steve talking. That would be awesome.

Dude... benfal - could you imagine if that had been the point all along? That they would have planned to release the feature shortly after his death? Far fetched i know, but a "Steve lives on... in your phone" for some reason doesn't seem too far fetched.

maybe Siri is a codename... the real name will be Steve.
Steve... HAL9000

our mac tech at work just posted this on facebook.
I remember being in Cupertino on the apple Campus. It was the first anniversary of the original Green iMac. I went to the keg (Surprise) to get a beer and pumping it for me was Steven Jobs. Talked to him for a little bit about geek stuff, then he was bombarded by the other geeks.
It was no more than 15 minutes but it seemed like forever. What a cool guy, bummer he had to go so soon! RIP Steven.

take it for what one will, but with all this activity he had one hell of a profound effect on the world.
