Kindle Fire / Amazon Silk

Anyone know more about the Fire / Silk browser? All I see so far is 1024x600, 169ppi (iPad2 is 132 ppi, iPhone4 is 326 ppi), Android 2.x, but no details on the rendering engine.

I think its going to be a webkit based browser as the kindle is currently using it but I am not 100%.

The Kindle Touch looks sweet. They should really focus on quality eInk to differentiate themselves from the rest. Just because you can add color, email and all that shit doesn't make the book reading any better, and kudos to them for keeping it alive!

I think the kindle and amazon's marketing, is great.
I'm a little disappointed amazon had to bring out a color tablet, they marketed the kindle as an enchanting, no frills book experience, which is great, but then they release a color tablet?
You cant blame them though, I'm sure it will do well, its a great price.

I was hoping for a color screen that didn't hurt your eyes after an hour of reading, that would be fucking amazing. Basically like the current kindle but color.
Imagine pc screens that were color and didnt hurt your eyes, if it was just like paper. The first company to make an affordable monitor like that, will be crazy rich.

Don't like the look of the new ones, prefer the 'Kindle Keyboard' color.
Also for me i don't think a touch screen would improve the experience at all.

The non-tablet kindle looks dogshit now, really cheap
