I'd originally posted this in the HTML5 thread, but realized it needed its own thread.

Paper JS. http://paperjs.org
Paper.js is an open source vector graphics scripting framework that runs on top of the HTML5 Canvas. It offers a clean Scene Graph / Document Object Model and a lot of powerful functionality to create and work with vector graphics and bezier curves, all neatly wrapped up in a well designed, consistent and clean programming interface. Note that for *all* of the examples there's a "Source" button in the upper right-hand corner. For any example you can just view the source code, edit it right there in place, and click "Run" to see your changes immediately take effect. Pretty rad.

it's pretty basic though..and in the bouncing balls example as soon as you start adding more balls it starts slowing down significantly.
But it's a good start. I fail to see the usage for something here.. Maybe some nice charts and graphics being create.
It's definitely nice as far as code and usage goes.. looks very clean indeed.

I like it. Although i have the same emotions the first time i started playing with flash.
How heavy is a page like this?
All code all loaded this must be 200k +?- who cares, people post 2+ meg animated gif files these daysanimatedgif

Real nice. If only there were an IDE to create linear-type animations, I'd be all over it. Otherwise you really need to be some kind of mad scientist genius to do stuff like this :)
Balls do slow down when you click on some more but the other examples are all speedy for me. Fun.

Is this Browser scriptographer? A lot of those scripts look the same as scriptographer ones.
Which came first?

@orrinward: Yes. Here're more info about the relationship with Scriptographer: http://paperjs.org/about/
