I deleted steam a few years back but got talking to a guy in the pub the other day who's a graphic designer, turns out he remembered my tag from playing TF2 and CS:S on UKCS ... damn I spent a fortune on keys... think I'd still have original item sets for spy/ sniper/ heavy/ scout - is selling this shit on eBay still frowned upon by steam?
- Unless you have unusual or vintage items, it might not be worth your time. So, you should just give everything to me. =)DRIFTMONKEY
- oeps meant valve, DM i've got 7 tins of olive paint with your name on 'em.kingsteven

Used to be obsessed with this game a couple of years back and made a new class update and later some class-specific shotguns for fun. Starts at the end of the 2nd page and works backwards.

in lure of the Zenga micro-payment model;
steam wants you to buy the weapons, hats and whatever other shit they can lure you to spend. they call it "Mann-conomy". which allows players to visit the Mann Co. Store and buy items using cash they've loaded into their Steam Wallet. like i mentioned, purchased items confer bonuses. the game is riggedwe used to be able to buy software; now its all subscriptions and micro-payments. in the end shit is getting more expensive. i say fuck'em, don't encourage the practice.

that's a nasty trick to fool you.

Mann-conomy

the order site / which you can access in game too.

they're pretty creative on the contraptions and class armaments..The big issue will be that if you dont pay for the upgrades, The stock build wont have a chance. you'll have to get the double armor, have to get the extended clips (etc) just to survive the rounds. which without you're a siting duck.
this is another nail in the coffin for the hope of avoiding micropayments elsewhere. It's like when your parents got a facebook account; after which you knew this facebook shit was going to be here for a while.
- these were released 2 years ago, no? also what about the heavy 's bear claws one...kingsteven

ea bought playfish so they could have a division actually making money. micropayments are a great idea. pay only for what you want
i can't believe the audacity of them, to demand payments to play a game and entertain yourself on a platform programmed by a corporation.
say it ain't so...
- considering i already paid them 50 bucks for the game.. yeahplash
- i didn't pay for it, you did, you paid to be an early adopter. that was your choice.registe
- lol. you're funny.plash
- it's the price difference between iphone1 & 2, or canon mark I or II, sucks if you paid before the newregiste
- that's consumerism, you don't and didn't need that gameregiste
- yeah no shit. its trend that is catching on. we'll see how far it goes.plash

I dont think this is an issue of being an early adopter..
maybe you're new tf2 but you'll see they have a team fortress beta which is for exactly that; early adopters.i paid 50 and i got 5 games which was a great deal for the 360. (but you didnt mention the orange box) (in fact, i also paid another 30 for the PC version of TM2) so this has been the better of the deals.
my is about purchasing content. game developers are withholding content just for the dlc. and in some cases (modern warfare 2; dlc) they are reselling old content.
now if you dont have a problem with it; then this may not be the conversation for you. i do have a problem with this direction. i have a problem paying 60 bucks for a game, then another 45 in "extra" content that is literally a port of the original game.
yes its all our own decisions and at some point you are correct. i will stop buying this shit.
- registe0
I guess I don't have a problem with it because I understand the concept of pay to play. I'm old enough to know I'm wasting my time if I'm just going to hang out complaining about something I have no control over.
I personally like the idea of micropayments like I said, do what you want with it.
Maybe consider this type of gaming like a race circuit. if this is going to be such a competitive sport, why wouldn't there be a profit structure put in place for those more willing to invest in the opportunity to win?
not all games are made like this. it seems to me that you're singling Team Fortress out for blurring the line between the big 3 consoles and facebook games only because it came at an expense to you.
there are people that spend thousands of dollars a year on Mafia Wars... to click a button. no one is forced into playing these games.
only you can control your position in relation to the game.
I see it like this... oh cool, free... explore, explore, this is fun. if others who want to spend money on the game, make the game no longer enjoyable to me, i will not attempt to invest in the game, making my play more enjoyable. I will only stop playing the game as I am not enjoying it.
options. if you're buying video games, you have plenty.

MEET THE PYRO!

im not really sure what you're arguing for. but no one is blurring the lines, its blatant. for steam in regards to Team Fortress 2; micro payments is the new model. no singling out. its a team fortress relevant observation..
you seem to take the position that all content should have this micro model (or even that i cant have issue with it). and thus that is where we will disagree. i dont want to rent software, i pay to own. the same as i dont want to rent my home or car. now this has nothing to do with the expense but more the nickle and dime approach. The same way i have problem with paying 800 bucks on a airplane ticket and then nickle and dime-ing for luggage. Just charge me the 40 bucks on the ticket.
As for choice. i don't think i ever mention i was being forced to play this game or any game for that matter. i may feel a little obligated to finish the story-lines. as yourself im an old gamer too, i come to enjoy the pastime of gaming and expect a complete product. DLC should stand on its own; not finish the original story line. the later seems to be the trend.
i also may just see past the guise of "free". and as for Mafia Wars; i would love to see the demographics. i would suspect they target a "type" of person. someone who also may need to finish all the game accomplishments and gets distracted by shiny lights.

The Pyro was referred to as 'he'?
Whaaaaaaaaat?
- By the Scout, yes. Heavy referred to Pyro as "it"DRIFTMONKEY
- registe0
don't forget, the game wasn't made so you could get a sense of self entitlement or pride from beating it on the hardest level, it was made for profit. now they are making more profit. good for them.
- drgs0
No actually its the solution to pirating
