Jesus fucking christ, NOT EVEN ONCE!
- Depends on who you work for. Plenty of studios make this work.tymeframe

How can an "agency" have only three people? It sounds like a web design studio.

Don't bite the hand that feeds on a public web forum.

I think that he now works for QBN.

I've only read the first page, but you need to treat them like a client and manage expectations. If you don't set dates for milestones of projects, and things just get done when they're done, that keeps everyone on their toes. Take ownership of your work and give thoughtful milestones/deadlines for them to relay to the client. Be sure to add cushion. I usually have to double my estimates.

2 years, 1 month, and 12 days later...

Isn't this thread like 2 years old.

pr2, while you're giving good advice, it shouldn't come down to that.
Every task shouldn't be like negotiating a fucking contract.
A healthy work environment involves respect & trust.

mikotondria3 and WikingKingEleven really nailed it earlier.
Anyone who is saying different ("It's your fault!" "You just need to manage better!") is full of shit. You sound like a hard/smart worker.

meffid said "Am I going to be the first to say "building websites in wordpress" is your problem?"
Yeah, you're going to be the first to say that.
Because 99% of web developers out there will disagree with you.
Using Joomla or WordPress for a CMS platform is pretty fucking standard. I wouldn't trust a web developer who didn't recommend that as the first consideration for a par-for-the-course website.

landock, you may be getting fired, or not fired.
But what you are experiencing is absolutely par for the course for web work.
Nothing you mentioned is uncommon or atypical. All part of the (often gruelling) reality of web work these days.
Waiting on content, working out tech problems, testing, iterations. It sounds like this lady isn't comfortable with this process.
If they don't realize that, and aren't on your side to help that process along, definitely look for a new job.

You gotta start asking questions. You were give a project today, ask what's the deadline? ASAP? ASAP as in a week or ASAP as in a day? In a day? that means all i can do is some minor design changes of a template, are you ok with that? Yes. Bam! You spend the rest of the day doing shit changes and noone can complain because that's what they signed off on.
The bitch is bitching - either play the game and bitch back in a friendly manner or stand up for yourself.
