I once told a co-worker that we were getting drug tested as a joke. He sent an email out saying that drug use helps further his creativity and if he was gonna get tested he would quit. When the boss came to his desk that day and told him that there was no drugtest. My friend was pretty pissed at me.

Not at an agency no. Even the owners would test positive for something.

I try to test myself everyday, but I always forget

If I test positive, won't they just ask me to share?

two days ago,
my wife's friend's daughter went to visit a DNA lab with her school,
apparently there, they all agreed to have a swab of their saliva taken so they could show them how the dna exams are done.this was a serious wtf moment for me,
no way I'm allowing my child to be tested without my approval and I'm pretty sure the parents signed off for the school trip without reading the fine prints...

I've never been drug tested. I think it's a lot less common in the UK.
I've also worked in 2 places where they have known I have taken drugs and so long as it hasn't impacted my work, it has been fine.
At least from personal experience it seems that the UK workplace is tolerant to drug use so long as it doesn't negatively impact your work. I much prefer this mentality.

That's not allowed to test people where I live now, but it will be allowed where I used to live before (Portugal).
Also, all jobs I had since 2005 everybody knows I take drugs and it was never an issue or does it ever affected my work in any negative manner.
In some jobs I performed under the effects of drugs, due to various reasons including also taking drugs to be able to work in some of those places :)

I'm happy to live in the Netherlands. I don't know a single country in Europe where they do this stuff. Sounds wrong to me.
The only exception I know of here is the army. But that kinda makes sense you don't wanna have some stoner shooting away in Afghanistan ;-)
- You probably shouldn't have a tweaker driving a school bus either. It's more common than you think.monospaced
- Trust me, I know how common "it" is ;-)rizm

Never, if they ever think of doing this here in Spain no one would get a job.
