You hear stories of someone calling a job they really want every day for a year or until they get it.
Do you think this is really effective? Anyone done this?

I did it for my first job in college.
Got the job.
I soon wished I hadn't.

There seriously has to come a point where someone who actually does that gets sick to the tits of degrading themselves like this.

ha...that's a bit loco.

You need to realize that calling someone everyday for a year will not lead to a favorable result.
- It's like trying to beg back the girl who dumped you.Continuity

you might as well start a career in telemarketing.

I had a kid do this... not every day, but maybe once a week he'd drop an email seeing how things were going, I connected him with other people, and he soon got picked up (maybe after 3 months). It worked because I thought he was smart and connected him with other people... if I thought he was stupid I would have ignored him and passed his info around.

if i got 4 phonecalls from a person looking for work in 4 consecutive days or once a week for a month, they'd be blacklisted forever. annoying twat.

I don't see it as effective, but you do hear success stories in the newspaper.

Looking back, there was one kid out of the bunch who followed up a few times. I found it annoying at first, but I was always polite to him. He did stay on my mind, and I ended up hiring him.

You'd be hired if it was an out-bound call centre selling shit.
