Well there you go. Eurostar. New identity system. New logo. Your comments? Have a closer look:

I like the wayfinding - the women's toilet symbol made me laugh. The swashy typeface is different - hopefully in a good way. The symbol looks a little dated when you see it on bags/print work etc... I want to like it more than I actually do.

Like the play on the letter E , gives good motion to the logo which I suppose emphasises movement and travel. Like it.

I don't like to be to be a hater but this really is absolutely dreadful - an appalling amateurish mess. What the hell were they (eurostar and someone) thinking of?
The sculpture photographs well from some angles but really doesn't work at all as a logo - the curve extending from the "e" is forced and awkward. And the swashy type suffers in the same way - the extended tails just seem add-ons, rather than an organic part of the letterform.
bah.

"SomeOne's Simon Manchipp caused a stir in our sister publication Design Week last April when he explained his belief in 'brand worlds' as opposed to logos on their own. "Logos are a hangover from another time," he claimed. The logo, he argued, now needs to be seen in the context of a wider 'brand world'. "[With a] brand like O2, its success lies in the richness and depth of its 'brand world', which features bubbles, colour, photography and typography...you could remove the logo and still know the brand," he argued."
Bit of a contradiction on Simons part here considering the Logo plays a big part in the Eurostar re-brand.
- that's not a logo... it's an independent, autonomous state on brand world.Amicus

not overly keen tbh

just had a quick look at it... cheesy contemporary corporate... 20 years from now people will probably laugh at this style or make ironic t-shirts out of it... (remember the 80s? airbrush?)... but what the fuck do I know...

I don't like the font, but the overal brand is ok.

I think it's going one of those ideas that seems really inspired at the start, but gradually becomes more and more constraining until finally they just ditch the whole sculpture as logo idea all together. More of a campaign than a brand.
wayfinding is nice.

At least the Eurostar trains will run more quickly. I can't imagine either end of the tunnel would want them hanging around too long with that crap plastered all over the side.

don't fix what's not broken. like the restroom symbols.
