I actually want to go back...I think the last time we went...we didn't see the nice areas...we have friends that live there, so we just kinda stayed in those areas...

I am super biased (born and raised...) but there are few places as rad. The food, the general vibe / consideration of most people, lots of events and happenings (drunken Santa bar hops???) and oh yeah – any sort of outdoor activity you could possibly want to take part in.
I lived in STL for 4 years, and DAMN was I happy to get back out here...

Oh! And if you plan to make the move, please for the love of god find a place in NE or SE, NW is all Intel execs and shopping malls, and most of the rad places to eat stick to the other side of the river too.

Lived there for 2.5 years. It's a small city and wasn't for me at the time, but it was very pleasant to live there. It's does rain for half the year though, so be prepared to either get wet or stay inside a lot.
For me, the highlight was the food. Lots of cheap delicious food, and their progressive food carts are a real gem that have exploded all over town.
Geography wise, I wish that the city was closer to either the ocean or the mountains. Neither are that far away, but I wish they could have been at my doorstep.
Good bus/train system that's free in the city center. Good coffee.

Lived there for 4 years, loved it! The rain takes some serious getting used to, but it only makes you enjoy your summer months that much more. Plus, there are quality(?) Strip Clubs on every block....

Is there a quality adult soccer league up there? it sounds like it's got everything else.

I like that they don't have an MLB or NFL team, but they do have an NBA team. Can't stand baseball and American football.
And the biking thing is pretty big there. It's like this city was made specifically for me.
