Lived there for 2.5 years. It's a small city and wasn't for me at the time, but it was very pleasant to live there. It's does rain for half the year though, so be prepared to either get wet or stay inside a lot.
For me, the highlight was the food. Lots of cheap delicious food, and their progressive food carts are a real gem that have exploded all over town.
Geography wise, I wish that the city was closer to either the ocean or the mountains. Neither are that far away, but I wish they could have been at my doorstep.
Good bus/train system that's free in the city center. Good coffee.
