Ayo! —
I've spent too much time trying to achieve this and now I'm asking for help —
I'm trying to re-create a helmet reflection effect in AE, as though you're inside the helmet.I created my own reflection image in Photoshop then wrapped it with CC Sphere in AE. Let me do what I want, which was rotate the 'reflection' but the 'reflection' looked shit. I tried loads variants in PS. Always looked shit.
Does anyone have a good reflection image, or a tutorial on how to achieve this?
Here is an image I found, you may enjoy it also —

The glass orbs tutorial was how I learnt about CC Sphere — ha! I'll check the HUD tutorial now, thanks.

My real issue is with the reflection image I'm using.

If your viewpoint is inside the helmet, you won't see reflections.
There might be some diffraction effects at the edge, but unless your face is a light source then there'll be nothing to reflect back at you.

^ I was thinking this too.

Fuck the view point or scientific technicalities, artistic license innit.

And yes, my face is a light source.
- haha, if it comes to creating the legend or the truth, always create the legend.mikotondria3
- it better be a fucking good lie, though. We want to see it.
Now, even if it's not ready. Go !mikotondria3 - I'll post it up when it's finished, none of that work in progress shit here.

seems like a decent reference even if it's from outside
