Take a few seconds and draw up a list of the top five technology companies that come to mind. Then the same for finance... pharma... biotech. My guess is at least 75% of them will be American.

Born and raised in South America. Reason enough.Anyway, yeah, the people over there still have some ok exports including my beloved laptop (though the components are manufactured and developed elsewhere). The hate comes from USA -government and business people- being responsible for the cultural colonialism and progressive impoverishment of most of the countries in South America, made possible due to the abundance of South American corrupt politicians, always keen on selling the countries, resources and even people for their own benefit.
The note about Harvard was from my experience of working with Harvard MBA graduates when I lived in the States. They openly admitted that the Uni was a lot about belonging to the Alumni and the networking possibilities and very little about actually learning.
Now that I've explained myself, we can move on. I might even get some zebra woozies...

Yes, Pharmaceuticals is huge in America, but only because we make ourselves so f'in sick and fat. And I think it's India that leads the world in actually exporting pharmaceuticals to other countries.
