I'm thinking of going for the Timbs.
Timberland Nordic Hiker - $80
Can't afford the $300 Merrell
But would consider the Cole Haans -$230

If you just want to walk around and look like an outdoorsman the Timberlands and Cole Hanns will do but if you want to put in some serious miles on trails pay the extra for some Merrells or Asolo.
I have these and they're great for out in the woods but I wouldn't wear them in the city
