for 30 years mubarak was funded by the US, fuck you egypt for sure....georgesIII - why on earth would you respond like that ? I have no allegiance to any country, just non-rapists.mikotondria3
- why does rape has to do with Egypt??georgesIII
- i understand mikos rage, but you cant generalize.
i think miko was really saying, 'fuck you, rapist cunts'Hombre_Lobo - thank you, yes.
I'm not an idiot, Georges, even when I deliberately sound so.mikotondria3 - Don't hate on a country cause there is a rapist there!HAYZ1LLLA

She was a gung ho reporter always putting herself in the action. I remember her doing a report in Afghanistan in the middle of a battle.

jesus fucking christ.
i hope someone find those evil bastards and tortures them until a very slow and painful death. This is horrific.
- Hombre_Lobo0
If i was the head of CBS, i wouldnt have allowed any women to go reporting. not in such a hostile environment.
Its just too dangerous.
- dude she's hardcore,
and why the veiled mysoginy,
not a personal attack, but woman reporter should go to war zone, they're woman not childrengeorgesIII - they're woman not childrengeorgesIII
- im not sexist in anyway, but rape is much more common in undeveloped countries, seems far too risky to me.Hombre_Lobo
- 'not a personal attack', cheers bro, i know your cool <3 :)
^looks like balls on my face :/Hombre_Lobo
- dude she's hardcore,

I have never heard of anything happening like this in the us ever and we have had some pretty epic riots, killing random white dudes yes but not one rape I can remember.

"She returned to Egypt, and was repeatedly raped and beaten where there was a mob of 200 people"
So basically that didn't happen. I mean did it say anywhere "repeatedly raped?"
- You made it sound like she raped 200 timesabettertomorrow
- Boz0
yeah I think they might have groped her and hit her but I have not read raped anywhere.. not that there is much difference at this point but just saying for her sake.. groping and beating up is at least something you can recover from....
It's awful nonetheless.
- Id rather my wife or daughter be gropped and hit rather than raped. Big difference.epigraph
- yeh, as grim as it is to classify it, penetrative is the thing that will scar her. ofcourse groping and beating is fkn horrific.Hombre_Lobo
- yeh epigraph, there is a huge difference, see my previous note.Hombre_Lobo

In the city that I grew up in, there was a huge annual event where colleges will come and gather at our city. There were countless rape incidents on the streets. So it has nothing to do with where it is - whether it's in the US or Egypt.
- @duhsighpixellette
- fucking humansset
- really? crowds of guys raping women in the streets? never heard about it.duhsign
- @ duhsign- google. "NYC Puerto Rican Day Parade Sex Assaults"e-pill
- oh yeh, a lot of that day is caught on tape, if you still dont believe what you say you dont.e-pill
- here.. http://str8nyc.com/2…e-pill

The fact she was reporting, as mono said, the celebrations makes this story hard to swallow. She'd been out there for days reporting during the riots etc and when you think all is well this shit happens. Madness
- Jaline0
I was wondering about the overwhelmingly male crowd and the gender issues that remain there (especially in certain cultures compared to others). I can't say I'm surprised something like this would happen, which is sad if you think about it. This is absolutely horrible.

Their country just got self liberated from dictator of 30 years and this is what these opportunistic selfish subhumans do in this situation?
Fucking sickening.
- ahahahhah mubarak was never a dictator untill 4 weeks ago,
he was a friend of the WestgeorgesIII - keyword: pro-mubarakSeriousFreelancing
- His thugs have been doing this for 30 years... just not to blondes... and thus he's out.SeriousFreelancing

No matter how important or positive a watershed historical moment might be, there is always a real ugly side.
Semi-related side note: anyone know the Egyptian Arabic phrase for "You can run and tell that, homeboy, homeboy"?
- Hombre_Lobo0
@pixellette.
Just because it happens in two places doesn't mean its as bad in both places. The difference is how often it occurs.
i'd bet a lot of money that rapes are far more common in places like egypt and undeveloped countries compared to the US.
- "doesn't mean its as bad in both places." - it's not OK anywhereJaline
- You obviously don't know what you arre talking about.ItalianStallion
- yeah, it is not,
sadly raped in develloped countries are inside famillies or connaissancesgeorgesIII - jaline what?
you saying 1 rape incident in china, is AS bad as 500 in india?? (for example)Hombre_Lobo - of course its not OK anywhere, but the frequency of occurrence is important in this discussion.Hombre_Lobo
- If that 1 rape was your sister, then that 1 rape would make a world of a difference to you.pinkfloyd
- really pinkfloyd? you're a genius.Hombre_Lobo
- easy there, you don't have to get so defensivepinkfloyd
- sry pink, of course i agree.
it was just a pointless thing to say.Hombre_Lobo - Rape is never excuseable but I see your point as well looking at the big picture.pinkfloyd
- Yes, exactly what pinkfloyd said. Your post was worded poorly.Jaline

http://www.rainn.org/statistics
In 2007, there were 248,300 victims of rape, attempted rape, or sexual assault.1 (These figures do not include victims 12 years old or younger.)
Every 2 minutes, someone in the U.S. is sexually assaulted. Here's the math. According to the U.S. Department of Justice's National Crime Victimization Survey -- the country's largest and most reliable crime study -- there were 248,300 sexual assaults in 2007 (the most recent data available).
There are 525,600 minutes in a non-leap year. That makes 31,536,000 seconds/year. So, 31,536,000 divided by 248,300 comes out to 1 sexual assault every 127 seconds, or about 1 every 2 minutes.
