Anyone have any good (visual) resources or examples of UX / IA out there? The filter isn't coughing up much. Thanks!

What are you asking? Are you asking for wireframes?

Something like this?

Visual examples. Abstract or direct. Not JUST fucking wireframes or the philosophical stuff.

Visual examples - what do you mean by this?
Please dont swear if you are asking for help.

Its not really UX or IA
Its more data visualization or information graphics
search for data visualization here, there are some threads on it

Out of curiousity, what does a fulltime IA do all day? I would think creating wireframes and site specs wouldn't require a fulltimer.
- depends on what kind of site you are building. and how big, and interaction models, etcJSK
- What are some of the other responsibilities of a IA?pinkfloyd
- The short answer is: We make stuff suck less.peddy28isgreat
- Obviously not you specifically if you need QBN to do your work for you.oddslob
- IA's go to a SHIT TON of meetings with client people to figure out the real stuff, not the PR crapvaxorcist

I knew a smart UA once, she said her main job was to make visual that which people couldn't really understand unless they saw visual stuff... and mostly to get people to see through the random crap that gets put out there all the time in meetings and actually focus, think and be ready to make real decisions, based on real users rather than random ideas and ego-protecting hype that usually happens when there are too many meetings and not enough actual decisions....

JSK, most of it is UI, wireframes, usability. They're good for mocking up a visual wireframe of the site. We'd have UX hash that out, make a rough wireframe, then build out site strictly for user testing. After a week of that, we'd get the results, they'd change their wireframe, and designers would change their comps. I think the big pay-off for UX is usability testing. Most companies though don't have the cash, or more importantly, the time for it.
It probably more useful for sites like Amazon, Target etc.., or anything that has a long shelf life. Companies that use it for microsites are wasting everyone's time, and basically bilking the client.
- that's where clients and firms are wrong. usability testing doesn't have to be a long process.studderine

I am not questioning it.
more or less, many designers in the past used to do these things. now its broken out to visual design and interaction design.
There seems to be a disconnect. It is now rare to find someone who can do both.
