Hello,
I'm in the market to look for a place to rent to live and sleep in in New York City (NYC).
I wanted to live in Williamsburg Brooklyn cos i have hipster friends in that are (i'm not a hipstert) BUT i'm also a practitioner of the combat sport of Muay Thai and the gym i would like to progress my fight training at is in Astoria, Queens

Therefore i would like somewhere equi-distant between Williamsburg and Astoria.
Any suggestions?

A friend of mine runs 'the listing project' based in NYC. You need to sign-up to the weekly email. All creative people (of sorts) renting, sub-letting, sharing, work and residential places. I rented my place in NYC for 3 months last year through the listings project.

I think they have plenty of Bally's and David Barton Gyms in Williamsburg in which you could do your exercise at.
- what are those? Do they have world class Muay Thai instruction?Khurram
- no they dontdirtydesign
- then stfu hipster.Khurram
- i thought all you wanted was a gym to practice your muay thai.********
- but they could offer it, you have to call them********
- i have already found my gym. It is Sitan in Astoria.Khurram
- strange that you'd go all the way to Astoria, just to work out, when there are many in Williamsburg********

i think LongIslandCity would be equal distance to both. check it out, it might be perfect for you. i have friends who go to that MuayThai place. Doesn't Lucy Liu go there too?

I have a friend who lives in LIC - not a bad place.

to find the mid-point between astoria and williamsburg depends on your travel. do you drive? are you gonna use bus or subway? plan on walking back and forth?
- ********0
^ cuz my subway, manhattan maybe the midpoint. especially if you want that L train. The G train may get you where you wanna go

Lucy lui goes to that muay Thai class?
Hmm some clinch knees might be fun, bit of grappling perhaps...
- i take that back, she doesn't do muay thai, she does something else.Douglas

If you want to go watch some live Muay Thai fights, these are great.

They're held in the basement of a church, they sell beers, and it's pretty damn fun. I went for the first time and had a blast. Totally entertained.
