NOOO.. do not install ANY CODECS!!! Windows 7 comes with unbelievable support and VLC and Media Player Classic have all support you need or you need installed..
those k-lite and shark codecs only cause trouble..
One of the reasons I tell you this is because I had personally trouble with them and when I wanted to stream my movies (m2ts h.264 1080p video plus AC3 640 audio) Windows Media Center played them ok but Xbox 360 and other DNLA devices wouldn't because Windows Media Center 7 was screwed with the codecs.. Once I installed everything.. it just worked..
Windows 7 has already great native support for many codecs.. I really do not install anything else but VLC or Media player classic (it's a matter of preference) and that's it..
