It took me a few months to truly get used to mine but now it's great. I have the older Apple mice on my other computers and they feel so clunky and plastic.
I like the weight of the magic mouse and it's very precise for me in all Adobe programs especially After Effects. I'm not sure about the issues some are having with it's precision. It's be great so far.
I use Energizer Lithium batteries and it will last at least two months before needing to be changed. I never turn it or my computer of.

^i cant see why anyone would use one of those instead of a mouse.
laptop track pads (including apple macbooks) make me wanna kick an orphan in the face. So annoying.
Saying that ive yet to use a Magic trackpad, would love to have a go!

For me, it's a piece of shit for one reason and one reason only: random scrolling.
It can't decipher a deliberate scroll from an finger that's too close. So in photoshop or illustrator, for example, you'll fly off the page somewhere unintended.
As others have said, It's a great mouse for browsing web pages, etc. Bad for doing work.

for just general computer use and websurfing, etc, the magic trackpad is without equal.
as far as production work, serious stuff, etc....i can't even imagine using anything other than a wacom tablet....I've got one at home and another at the office, and have been using them fairly exclusively for over a decade, and there's no substitute.....using a mouse for design or art is like trying to draw with a brick. you can get the fanciest mouse in the world, and it's still, in the end, a brick....
