So heres what I'm taking from this:
Feeling curious:
It's perfectly fine and encourages things to happenFeeling sad:
Pathetic and deserving of rebuke.Feeling bored:
Sensible way to pass the time. Also, I hear it's less deserving of shame from people who actually do this than people who have less experience soloing the bar, so I'm going to assume there is barrier to entry here and it involves how you pull off your solo drinking. Have to appear like you know what you are doing.
- Also, quantity seems to figure. 2-3 = ok.. peepants mc drunk = sadcannonball1978
- peepants mc drunk is only fun with close friends. they will help you.capn_ron

i'd rather be solo at a bar than drinking at home alone. usually end up talking to strangers at the bar – much less chance of strangers showing up in my living room.
also very hard to pass up $1.50 drafts at the bar across the street from my apartment.
- or like my neighbor, get hit by a car walking home from the bar across the streettimeless

you can get over the feeling that people might think you've stood up by defiantly...

For some reason, this is a lot easier to do (drink solo at bar) while out of town on a business trip.
So just act like your always from out of town.
