Boz:"This is my last response on this board.."
I love it when people threaten with this...and then return

I saw this thread and thought to myself, "who the hell would post this garbage since Boz is in raging exile looking for my house?"
Oh..... nevermind. hahahahaha. Who commented they would laugh their ass off when he came back?

Shit like this:
"no Android updates for Sony's Xperia X10 beyond Android 2.1, and it was released 5 months ago in the US"
Or 2.3 not available yet for the Nexus One a phone that's 12 months old, oh but it's available for the new Nexus S, shit like this is not cool in my book.
- Wow, that's worse than apple obsoleting their shit in just 2 years sometimes.antagonista

I don't particularly dig the way Google is addressing their performances issues with Android:
http://www.satine.org/archives/2…
In this regard Apple and Microsoft are beating Google, let's hope they get this shit straightened.
Another Android issue I have is with the OS versions and availability between models and carriers, the thing is just a mess and creates a lot of fragmentation, specially for game developers.
- Perhaps with the tablets there will be more consistency, we don't know yeternexbcn

Oh c'mon man, Steve was right, remember the original iPhone is like 4 years old now, Adobe is barely fixing their shit right now, took them 4 years, let's not repeat that same tired discussion.
It's great to see the tablet market starting to heat up, Apple is getting bored being a leader...

It's so exciting being a Flash dev these days as well.. new tools coming out, this year full GPU acceleration for everything Flash, new low level 3D APIs in Flash.. AIR 2.6 is unbelievable and you will run AS3 apps on Blackberry/Android and iOS quite nicely.
No need to use anything else really to write apps for each platform and you do it with one environment.. I love it.
- Good efforts by Adobe that's good.ernexbcn

yes..Blackberry was unbelievable.. 1080p full HD video running, Quake game, Photo Gallery and playing music and it all ran super smooth.
Hey but you do know that Blackberry SDK and simulator and apps are written in AIR/AS3 right?
So much for $teve Jobs' shitfest about Flash and all that crap.
- hmmm... and the play book didn't even have functioning email. Nice one.antagonista

I found more impressive the BlackBerry tablet video running Quake 3 Arena and a video at the same time.

It's just a video Boz, there's Apple and iOS for quite a while yet.

@inviteplz
The latest 1 ghz processor tablets / phones are smooth. I only bought my iphone about a year and a half ago because the htc hero (best android phone at the time) just wasn't as smooth, made the interface less enjoyable. But now most current '1 ghz and above' android devices are smooth.
- Not smooth enough, they all still look jerky at times to me, also it's an idiotic decisioninviteplz
- not to take advantage of the graphics hardwareinviteplz
- you need a bash on a samsung galaxy S, thats well smooth.Hombre_Lobo

Its gotta be hard to develop an OS when the screen sizes vary greatly between hardware manufactures. This is where iOS holds the advantage. They can account for the very last pixel.
On side note , looking forward to testing my flash liquid layouts in full screen mode with the larger tablets.
- it's a bit more challenging yeah but nothing we haven't done on Windows/OSX app development.Boz
- yeh like boz said, the frag mentation thing is not that big a deal, pcs have had that problem and dealt with it fine.Hombre_Lobo
- the android SDK handles diff devices nicely with 3 diff directoriesBattleAxe
