I was going to ask the same question about studio recording monitors vs. speakers for audio listening. There are several pair of recording monitors posted here, and they can sound great for general listening, sure, but what's going on acoustically is different from even regular home stereo speakers. I didn't really know much of this until lately as I've been researching new recording speakers, but basically if you're recording, it's better to have speakers meant for that purpose. I guess the same speakers could be totally fine for regular listening, but they might lack the bass you'd hope for in a setup with a subwoofer.
Anyhow, this topic could go on forever with none of us right or wrong.

Totally subjective. How come no one else knows how to use an eq but me, lol.
I read somewhere that some company (??) spent a lot of money designing a cost effective speaker for the masses which produced really hi fidelity sound. They failed in testing because the general public preferred the sound they got from the crap speakers they were used to.

Sound great, no sub (i wanted a 2.0 system) but they are very bassy, best of all they are discreet and unassuming, only about 26cm tall, i love em!
