Erase Time Machine/MyBook

I posted on this a while back and have a question. Since getting a new logic board in my MBP, my Time Machine backups on a Mybook Pro are no longer recognized. I tried fooling with the MAC address but that didn't work. So I just want to erase the drive and start all over. I don't mind losing the data. Just want to start fresh.
So, should I just use Disk Utility to fully erase that drive, then start a new Time Machine backup there? There's all kinds of stuff on the web about erasing Time Machine backups, but as it is now I can't even get to those individually.
Thanks!

Assuming you don't back up other computers to the Time Capsule, the most straightforward thing to do is open up AirPort Utility, double click on the Time Capsule on the left, and then go to the Disks tab. Under that you can select the Time Capsule drive and do a quick format or a secure format. If you just want to delete the sparse bundle created for your computer, you should see the Time Capsule in the Finder sidebar under Shared, and you would find the sparse bundle with your computer's MAC address or computer name and delete it manually by putting it in the trash and emptying.

So waht mbp do you have and who/what/when/where/how much did the logic board replacement occur.
My usb ports stopped working and I have clean installed already.... thying to decide if I should get if fixed or just get a firewire card reader and use it for a location computer on photoshoots.

akrok - I use Time Machine on a MyBook Pro, not a Time Capsule drive, so I think it's a little different.
epigraph - I have a late 2007 MBP and I got the logic board replaced for free. My graphics card went bad, and Apple replaces the logic board for free under an extended warranty from Nvidia.
