^ and if you can decipher the mathematics in that code, you could port that over to an Illustrator .js script and draw a path with it.

i doubt the wacom spirograph will be as smooth as math or if the nodes will be smooth and minimal but the notion is quite cool

If you want a Spirograph that can be reasonably bound by a circle, draw a closed shape (elipse polygon,star, etc.) then effect>distort&transform>pucker... - max out the bloat, maybe apply another to push it further, then effect>distort& transform>zigzag
The variation of starting shapes combined with those two plugins will give you quite a variety of basically round "true" one path spirographs.
Hope this helps, but I'd like a plugin that takes two user defined shapes and creates a "spirograph along a free-form path" now that would be wicked cool for things like gift certificates and such.

i had to do this awhile back...believe i used spirographer, but always had to clean the results up as it was pretty messy.
