Yoyoyo qbn!
So im making a new portfolio and my previous sites have all been made in flash, now with iphone and ipad its more ideal to make them in html - if there is little animation.
Now im a complete novice with CSS and HTML, but im pretty competent in flash.
So can i export a full html site from flash?
(this would save me time having to learn html/css)i know in the past if you make a site in flash it simply puts the site (which is an swf) in a html container - obviously this wouldn't work, its still an swf that wouldnt show up on non flash devices.
hope you can help.

If I were you I'd go for a simple portfolio hosting service while you learn how to create web sites properly.
- Hombre_Lobo_20
^yeh i was thinking that.
c argo (and others) style. Core CMS maybe...
- ukit0
Or Wordpress. Gives you something to start with that you can also customize completely once you learn enough.

"So can i export a full html site from flash?
(this would save me time having to learn html/css)"Wow... just wow, I mean if you are asking questions like this then you really shouldn't be building your own portfolio. Just use a hosting service or get someone else to build it.

Open Flash "Ctrl + C"
Open Dreamweaver "Ctrl + V"- lol! top tip :DHombre_Lobo_2
- drag-and-drop! way much faster... i guess!noel

@pizza
What are you on about? why are you so 'wowed'?
Its really quite simple. i know flash. i dont know html / CSS. So why shouldn't i be building my own portfolio. Perhaps you arent busy enough to be concerned with time saving solutions.
I hope you are sitting down when you read this post and not up a tree or a ladder as it too may be slightly overwhelming for you.
- because you don't understand the capabilities of the technologies or how the interact at a base levelPIZZA

I wouldn't worry about it. Unless you're really trying to impress a prospective employer with your new-found front-end wizardry, I'd stick the technology you're a rockstar at, as most probably won't be looking you up on their iphone's or ipads. These business professionals will be busy and will wait till they get to their computer before they set down their coffee and blackberry and proceed to look your portfolio over.

Just use FHTML
- Flashy HTMLukit

"because you don't understand the capabilities of the technologies or how the interact at a base level"Are you a complete moron?
The exact point of this thread is because i DO understand the capabilities of the technologies and i DO understand how they interact at a base level.Hence my question. What i didnt understand / what i don't have is a completely comprehensive knowledge of Adobe Flash output formats and its arrangement of code within these formats.
If this trivial stuff makes you say 'wow...just wow', god knows how long it takes you to recover from burning a piece of toast.
- See ukit below, if you know OOP (maybe you're just on the timeline though?) then you should be able to pick up HTML/CSS in a matter of days.NONEIS
- HTML + CSS in a matter of days.NONEIS
- Timeline AS1 hacker I'm guessingPIZZA
- pizza, shut up.Hombre_Lobo_2
- noneis -
im not AS pro, but i bust a steady mix of timeline and AS2 code.Hombre_Lobo_2 - cool thanks noneis.Hombre_Lobo_2
- i actually made a drawing application in flash once, all AS, 1 frame, importing all graphics etc. its better than PS.Hombre_Lobo_2

@seeessess
Yeh thats what i was thinking. blank page wont impress anyone.
Even a simple series of stills from my work as a flash alternative would be good. Cheers dude!
- ukit0
Keep in mind, HTML is NOT hard to learn. If you can program an entire portfolio in Flash, just dive in and do it would be my advice (maybe using Wordpress or something to start out). It ain't rocket science or the Large Hadron Collider.

pizza...
why ya gotta be a fucking cock?
either break your fingers so you can't post or just don't post.
the dude's asking for help... ... not a snobby technical berating from some cock on the web... your post is useless and discouraging... ... fuck off.
- lol, pleased someone agrees, cheers pony :)Hombre_Lobo_2
- pretty good advice telling them to just use a hosting site or get a mate to do itPIZZA
- BTW it's PIZZA not pizzaPIZZA
- good advice?
well, you didn't know the answer to my question. so maybe you should consider hosting?Hombre_Lobo_2 - hosting, as you clearly (to quote a tool) "don't understand the capabilities of the technologies or how the interact at a base level"Hombre_Lobo_2
- ...they interact at a base level"
time to stop posting perhaps?Hombre_Lobo_2

go to your flash sites, surf and screenshot-o-rama,photoshop the screenshots into numbered jpegs.... then make jquery slideshow...
yes, it's like making an airplane go underwater, but hey.....
- johfiner0
yeah I think the flash alternative is the way to go, unless you want to take the time to learn HTML & CSS... which you should probably do anyway...
- yeh i really should add it to my skill set... cheers dudeHombre_Lobo_2
