this may get me blacklisted but I am just going to come out and say it... Most items on the FMT threads disappoint.
I like my fair share of dubstep and electronic but hell how many mixes does one need?
- huh. I only recall dling a couple of 'mixes'.. ever.detritus
- To be fair there's a lot of metal in the FMTs too...just not a lot of more mainstream rock like the bands belowukit
- It seems like lately the more niche genres have gotten more prolific whereas the ones we all used to buy at the store - that put out big, "serious" albums instead of EPs and whatnot - have fallen off a bitukit
- put out big, "serious" albums instead of EPs and whatnot - have fallen off a lot.ukit
- I am not really into mainstream rock or anything and have found a fair amount of new things on the FMT but...Knuckleberry
- I have also found it seems like the same thing being regurgitated. Maybe now that I am 30 I am just too old.Knuckleberry
- I think ukit and I are both older than that! :)detritus
- Naw, I'm older than you:) I didn't mean mainstream like Brittany Spears but in a relative sense - Placebo and Refused are still at least somewhat conventional bands, right?ukit
- are still at least somewhat conventional bands, right? What I was getting at is that with these underground scenes you tend to follow it in a different way (if you care enough to do so)ukit
- you tend to follow it in a different way (if you care enough to do so). Individual records become more throwaway but overall it's exciting to hear all the stuff that is out there.ukit

for me 'bloodflowers' by the cure was a let down....was listening heavily to disintegration at the time, and when i heard Robert Smith intended this to be the follow up to it, (and third in the series, starting with Pornography) i totally bought into the hype and picked it up without listening to it first....
loved the music (as always) but found his lackluster singing, or talking his way through the songs very disapointing...
