This particular program isn't trying to support video. It's only for making animations with CSS3. Use case would be something like a banner ad.
Obviously "HTML5" broadly defined is capable of video and a lot of other stuff, but the program for the time being is narrowly focused on that. Basically they decided to bite off a small piece and get something out there, not a bad approach IMO.

cool. make it more user friendly gain more support. i liked the edge aftereffects like gui better though.mainly because familairity. i find after effects more efficient then flash, but thats personal. anything to help me cut down on remembering syntax and shit i like.

I think they are being pretty smart in terms of targeting specifically at banner ads. That will be a very lucrative niche, to offer a product that creates ads that can be viewable on iPhone/Pad, Android, AND traditional browsers.

it's ironic how the main rhetoric from Apple fanboys and anti-Flash flamers how "we don't want flash because of ads whaaaaaa" and now the first tools we are getting is to make the same freakin' annoying ads in html... LOL..
Talk about hypocrisy.

- Where are the fanboys? Outside your windows (←pun) protesting?raf

- That's it, boz - shift the goalposts. I've seen very few people crit flash primarily for its use in advertising...detritus
- ...anyone with half an inkling of how the net works stays schtum about advertising - evil necessity that it is.detritus

If they take less time to load...they will be less annoying

Will this just produce just more bad examples of animation?
- and a few good ones which will spawn a site called HTMLWA.comPonyBoy
- Which will be banned from being typed on this siteukit
- i almost typed that into my post... but then it hit me that QBN would prefer the HTML and in turn allow said sitePonyBoy

I bet this "animator" is about as powerful as Flash 2 from 1998, won't work the same across browsers, won't support video, won't support 3D... Need I go on?
- why wouldn't it support video it's just html and css? browser support is the same as css3 supportTheBlueOne
- Do I need 3D and Video in banner adverts?PIZZA

I'm betting this won't support video the same way Flash does - with alpha if needed, and easily connected to the timeline, with cuepoint detection, metadata, volume detection.
