^^ Ram i kept wondering the same thing.. i mean they touch, breathe and cover themselves in gore and nothing? you need to get bitten only?
kids are stupid.. hopefully the story moves on without them.. not much of a cliffhanger..
- epill0
it was nice to see some different speed with the 2 zombies chasing the kid, nice to see some of them can actually run/ jog instead of slow paced dragging.. i loved that the main guy running from the zombies falls, yet the zombies have perfect foot hold in their chase with feet and legs all mangled and still not fall.. the children are crappy actors.. i hope that kid survives so i can see a zombie chomp on him in a later episode.. he is the type to go check on that noise he heard in the distance without telling anyone and without a weapon or light.. just watching him playing with the knives.. i was hoping he would fall on it or something.. but what happened to him.. oi
i kept thinking either the deer was going to use it's horns and lunge at the kid or the deer was a zombie, and then it would open the door for animal zombies too.. but what happened was .. well it made me laugh.. like oh snap look what happened.. i thought this was a show about zombies.. and they went on and on about how random bullets flying off in the forest is bad as someone can get shot.. well derp!!

i thought in season one, when they went amongst the zombies to retrieve their weapons they slathered themselves with zombie guts and were careful to get none on them in fear that they would get infected.. now they have slop all over them and it aint no big thang.. i don't get that.
- One of the guys on the Talking Dead show raised that question. Didn't hear the answerlocustsloth
- talking dead?epill

Haven't seen the episode but if it's not an oversight
I'd assume the virus have to get injected into your bloodstream and not just mixed with regular mucus or the other body fluids.

I believe the author's explanation was that a Zombie's blood needed to get into a person's bloodstream in order for them to become infected. So being splashed with zombie blood wouldn't necessarily infect someone.

so the differences in the show from the book are loose.. but i hope they make it to the Hershel Greene farm.. i wonder when certain people who were already killed off in the books, will be killed in the tv show.. also i wonder if they will ever tackle the idea that one isnt zombified from bites alone, that in the books, if you are killed in any manner, your body re-animates itself regardless if a zombie bit you or not.. so i hope that is worked into the show.. i wonder what will happen to the kid.. in the books.. he makes it to the current issue on the stands today.. so im not sure what the tv will bring up for up.. plus i hope they bring in the other kids that are in the books too.. i also wonder if the prison will be in the series this season or will that most likely be a season 3?
anyone here read the books beside me??
- are they graphic novels, or novel format? i could google it i guess... just watch season 1 these last 2 wks - but prefer reading
bjladams - to read, if the option's there...bjladams
- i am sure it has been collected into graphic novels, but it is in monthly issues..epill
- it is currently on issue #89 so it might be collected in a 6-10 issue format soft cover..epill

Gotta love a god-fearing zombie, prayin' for a miracle i suppose...
- my first thought was they're waiting there to trap live ones. ring the dinner bell and they come...********
- They said in season one that zombies will often continue habits they formed while alivevoiceof
- I thought it was a nice satement in regards to draw the comparison between a zombie and some religious folks going through the motions.dorkKn1ght

I dig the show at times, its awesome and bold to see a zombie apocalypse show on TV. I also feel like a snob when I say this, but why the shit dont they follow the comicbook closer!?!
The Governer I think I know what they are gonna do and I dont like it. Where the hell is Michonne, she is like one of the best characters.Tyrese, ditch that other ballheaded dude who cut his arm. I think he died like the 6th issue or something.
With that being said, last nights episode was good, I just fear there is too much drama at times when there is more action in the book.
- < agree.. much too dramatic at times. needs to be intense.ifeltdave
- epill0
that 2nd episode was garbage.. its such a step away from the books..
oi so ok.. the kid even though he will go thru some physical pain may survive.. t-bone got his pain killers.. he is ok.. andrea took 1 step away and all of a sudden the rest of them were running distance away from her and couldnt stop the zombie but a chick on a horse with a baseball bat saves the day..
seems this episode was all about happy endings.. a bright shiny future..
- I think reading the books in advance really kills the show. The comics are so dark. The show just seems neutral to me.woodyBatts

Valid points, but I'm not sure I'd quantify "trapped behind a chain link door and the only thing keeping me from becoming a party tray is a wobbly lil pin as "happy" or "bright, shiny" ending. I usually place those types of experiences in my "bad day" jar.- the entire premise is a "bad day" seeing a light of hope on tv is brighter than in books..epill
- it doesnt sell the fear and dispair so hard as the books do..epill
- it felt like it was almost ok.. put that in your bad day jar..epill
- how did he know instantly that there was a gate he could pull closed? fuck dat... they didn't even fire a single shot...sigg
- Speaking of bad day jars...man alive, epill. Sorry if I slapped a sore spot.hellobotto

i read the first 3 volumes two or three years ago and thought they were groundbreaking. i loved how dark they were and i loved how they portrayed a somewhat realistic "you're heros and loved ones probably won't survive if this really happened" scenarios. far too often in comics the heros always win, and should one ever die it was either a dream, illusion or they come back to life via some enchantment bullshit. the novels were amazing and the last 30 pages of the first volume fucked me up so bad i had to go for a walk after i finished the read.
the show is pc in every way. they're killing off "the bad guys" in the typical hollywood bullshit way. i really can't connect with any of the characters and we're 2 episodes into the second season. i just don't give a shit about any of them. t-bone is a pussy... not the badass he was in the comic. no samuri sword carrying woman who was the baddest of the bad?!? no prison?!? wtf is going on here?!? a whole episode searching for a girl i could care less about... it all makes no sense and it just pisses me off how poorly the show has been written. the comic was such a better story.

this season is blowing hard. I thought the series would have 3 seasons max, now i'm only projecting it will last till the end of this season.
I've never read the graphic novels - and i still think it's getting bad.
- ifeltdave0
I agree with tasty that this season is weak so far. lots of milling around.. not doing anything. hell episode 2, you had to sit through 35 minutes before seeing a SINGLE zombie. I know it was all about the drama of rick and his son.. but cmon.
hoping this season picks up a bit next week.
- sigg0
and why won't anyone fucking shoot! they're all saying a gunshot will alert more zombies... um... no it won't. a single gunshot will not give away your position as there is no way of telling which direction it came from. it's the gunshot(s) that follow that give away your position. i'm all for saving ammunition but i'm getting annoyed that no one will shoot because zombies will come to the sound. then near the end when rick's wife was talking about hearing the gunshot daryl contradicts their whole anti-gun theory saying "we can't go coming the hills looking for them off of a gunshot echo that could have come from anywhere."
and i don't get how one second they're walking as a group, then andrea gets attacked and everyone turns not knowing where andrea is/was and they're all now somehow a football field away. it's so bad.
the only good part was the farm... because i know what's in (or SHOULD be in the barn) and it makes for a very interesting dilemma.
- dont spoil the info from the books of what is to come for those that never read it..epill
- dude, you did this the page before. saying if you die in any way you come back as a zombie.sigg
- that hasn't been covered yet in the series dude.sigg
- oi that was so last page info..
no one even noticed it initially.. til now!!epill - ahhh i hate this thread! hahah i know way too much nowifeltdave

2 episodes and they are still looking for that fucking girl, not making any progress. You can tell this show is working on a very low budget. Having real story and location progression costs money.
- sigg0
dude it's horrible. the missing girl fucked up what should have been an easy transition to the farmhouse. now half want to stay, half want to go, half want to eat a blt. it's making me mad.
- sigg0
you said this a few posts back... ".. also i wonder if they will ever tackle the idea that one isnt zombified from bites alone, that in the books, if you are killed in any manner, your body re-animates itself regardless if a zombie bit you or not.." that's a pretty huge spoiler.
