Right, because that's what ex CEOs do, drop 1/10th of their entire personal fortune so their company can buy another one.

Adobe and Apple used to be best friends for years.... What the fuck happend? Apple stole Adobe's girlfriend?

The New York Times reports that Apple CEO Steve Jobs and other executives recently held a secret meeting with Gap CEO Glenn K. Murphy to discuss a number of topics, including how the two companies might work together to rebrand Gap, as well as a possible acquisition of Gap by Apple.
Steve Jobs, Apple's chief executive, recently showed up with a small entourage of deputies at Gap's corporate offices in San Francisco to hold a secret meeting with Gap's chief executive, Glenn K. Murphy.- the gapple logo makes sense now...neowe

@SteveJobs,
Apple has not been neglecting OS X. Blocks, Grand Central Dispatch, etc., nearly everything new on the iOS platform dev-wise originated in OS X or is shared with it... iOS and Mac OS both are still Darwin. iWork is Apple's project on getting Office-independent and it's slow in updating but it's still a viable alternative. Macs sales are up 200% in enterprise/government, the Obama Administration are fanboys. Gaming is moving (gradually) towards Macs, not away from it, and there are plenty of gamers out there who aren't hardcore, gaming-first computer users. Mac OS X is not declining, so I don't know what informs your opinion, and if Adobe pulls CS, it's a hit sure, but not everyone who uses a mac is using it for photoshop.
- also, adobe will do nothing for MS for the desktop. the point of any merger would be mobile.kpl

I'm getting sick of this petty debates,
use whatever system you like as long as it makes you happy,
Enough of this freakin stupid debate
I'm sick of it- have you read anything in this thread? the only debate here is how does ukit feel about me...neowe

iam working all day long with a PC at work and iam working with a Mac at home... I like both of them. If Adobe become available only for PC (and i dont think this will ever happend) i would be willing to switch over to PC at home.
PCs and Mac's have never been so close from one another... both are running with Intel parts and we are working with the exact same softwares on both of them. The main différence is Windows7 VS OSX ... I never tried Windows7 so i can say anything about it, but i know OSX is THE major force of Apple computer.
- Apple has been neglecting the shit out of that platform for a while, it is all iOS devices these days.DrBombay

You are right benfalk, OSX is the major force of Apple computer

This is very stupid to me. They'd do this to [attempt to] beat Apple at the cell phone market? For what, bragging rights? Why don't they concentrate their efforts on something that's never been done before, kind of like Apple did with, oh, how many products now? iPhone, iPad, iPod, kick ass construction of laptops, etc. Give us something new for crying out loud.
- kick as construction of overheating laptops with some of the rarest mineral batteries? what?neowe
- That would require original thinking, does not computeukit
- oh i get it smooth and shiny right?neowe
- bragging rights and money.
lots and lots of tasty green money.SteveJobs - this kick ass construction?

Oh, please let it be true. The bloated, insecure buggyness of Microsoft combined with the bloated, insecure buggyness of Adobe. This would cause Flash to be banned by most sane organisations on security grounds, problem solved.
All we need to hear is that Apple have a skunkworks version of Photoshop in the pipeline and the world becomes a better and happier place.
Regrettably, as ukit said, even Microsoft can't be that stupid.
- TenaciousG0
This would be a bit like General Motors buying Ford - it would be good for investors for about 5 seconds, then the company crashes and burns.
No one at either company could be this stupid... I hope.
- raf0
I hope Apple will release their version of Photoshop-like software they had been secretly working on in their basement for 20 years, just like they worked on Intel-running OSX.
Considering that they have Final Cut and Aperture, how unlikely is this?
- hotroddy0
Apple is trying to turn the internet into a packaged, glossy, cheesy giant itunes store for the current corporate status quo. Apple fans don't see it because they are dazzled by their shiny new products. I'd rather switch my alliances to Microsoft or Google any day of the week. Bring it on.
- MakeUK0
Im siding with the company that looks after my industry wether it's microsoft or Apple, i'm not bound by shiny machines but support for what I do to make a living. I am a user of Macs for 15 years, but they are arses, if you ask me they don't look after there best customers - us.
- BusterBoy0
@neowe where do you get that shit from? Market cap of Apple is higher than Microsoft - close to $270 billion. Gates is worth around 20% of that so your facts are completely wrong.
