Has anyone successfully used a font replacement technique that isn't sIFR?
Is there a JQuery version out there?
Has to be cross-browser / IE6 compatible so CSS3 won't cut it.
Thanks.

@font-face? Most fonts suck in windows though.

People on IE6 don't deserve to look at a nice typeface.
Seriously.

It doesn't look much better on IE8 on Windows 7, or any browser for that matter. Embedded fonts suck on all Windows systems, all browsers, period.

Mik - our user base is over 30% IE6 - we're B2B and a lof of banks never upgraded as their internal systems need it to run.
Sad, but true!

Typekit now has browser previews:

It has to be - on sIFR anyway - http://thomsonreuters.com/about/…

I'm a total convert to typekit. Well worth the money.

Cufon is good - but never realised it created the text into PNGs...
Again - typekit doesn't have my font. Can you upload them?
- raf0
There are more places like Typekit or with downloadable web fonts

http://kernest.com
http://www.fontspring.com/fontfa…
http://www.typotheque.com/webfon…You can convert yours to a webfont, but check if the license lets you do this first.

Nice - cheers guys.

I've used:
http://www.fontshop.com/fontlist…And my dev guy found a way to make it work on browsers they don't support.

Why don't you use Google's font api
- ukit0
Cufon doesn't use PNGs, it uses HTML5 Canvas
