I would check your local community college or university for a continuing education class or certificate.
I've thought of doing this program so I can be the one that tells designers at 4:45 pm that the client wants to see final files first thing in the morning and that I'm leaving early so if you have any questions ask now.

I've had good luck with Collabtive. And it's free!

I've heard good things about Basecamp. But I would definitely like to hear about possible other options, and comparisons.

We're considering ActiveCollab. http://www.activecollab.com/

ActiveCollab is nice but bloated I say.

Eskema suggested: http://Projectbubble.com/
That looked like the winner to me after trying ActiveCollab.
AC is nice if you've got the endless hours to make it look good, figure it out, manage all the permission and so forth. And then it doesn't share images.
I really like www.conceptshare.com also, and use it quite a lot.

action method is nicely presented, but IIRC it's expensive.

I would strongly recommend Open Atrium, it is FREE, easy to set-up on your web server, nice GUI, extremely easy to use & learn, and most important the clients really like it.

http://projectbubble.com just launched a kick-ass API, so if you're into developing apps you should check it out.
