Dodecahedron is right, its all about desensitizing us.
I know that after years of playing Mario Bros. as a child, I'm now severely desensitized to stomping on turtles and plumbers falling down pipe shafts.

Pretty damn good campaign so far. Started out on Hardened to keep it challenging. The explosions look amazing for some reason.

Why is it that treyarch COD titles dont have the polish that Infinity ward has? Dont they share assets? Use the same engine? Why is it that their shit always feel clunky? Its not a bad game, but it just doesnt feel right, unlike MW1 and 2, which felt just right.

haha sorry gordy. but, you accounted for over half my deaths in one round if i remember correctly.
also, it did seem a little laggy. you could really see it in those final kill cams.

What are you talking about specifically in terms of not having the polish that Infinity Ward has? I put in 4 hours on the game last night between campaign and multiplayer and I was impressed/satisfied all the way around. The sound effects seem better, some of the explosions in campaign were way better than before, and the gameplay felt great. On some of the multiplayer maps, every last detail seemed covered and the environments were pretty impressive.

Can anyone tell me how to not suck? I only ever manages a 0.88 K/D in MW2, and after 3 games of Black Ops I'm a 0.60. Useless.
Is it just me, or is Black Ops harder to get into than MW2? It just seems a little less... sophisticated.
Got to the first Vietnam level in Campaign last night, the one with the napalm barrels. Hard as fuck, mainly because I think it's broken or something, I think that's one of the known glitchy levels.

the game feels laggy, floaty and like the noobs are suddenly much better.
Although i was drunk and haven't explored the menus yet.feels like they have went back to the world at war engine.... gameplay feels slower and once again breeds campers.

Im actually very surprised how much grief Dodecahedron has got for his posts.
A friend of mine who is literally the smartest person i know first mention to me that it could be propaganda of sorts and i was totally like whaaa??
But after a while i can totally see how it could be. its not a bizarre idea at all. it really does righteously glorify war, and desensitizes us to it.
Simply put the thought of joining the army before cod, id be like "no fooking way". But now id be more inclined to, thinking of all the places i'd go, the travel, the excitement, but at the same time not thinking of all the effort and crap i'd have to put up with, which is most likely thanks to COD.
...now, back to my mindless killing on cod, yaaaaaaaay :D

People are going to camp right now to figure out the various maps. I felt like in the couple I played there were so many more nooks and crannies that lend to, ahem, "strategic positioning" to see where the best vantage points are going to be.

if any of you have the displeasure to have purchased it on PC, you may know about the huge launch issue they've encountered.
Even on some monster pc's it runs like absolute dog shit. getting 30fps average on expensive high end systems. Apparently a patch will be available soon.
Xbox / PS3 users feel free to take the piss out of pc gamers (like myself) at this time!
