kali as self defense doesn't make any practical sense when dealing with how knife attacks happen here in the us. its basically hogwash in that regard. don't get me wrong, from what iv'e seen its a good exercize, shares a lot of principles with wing chun and a lot of good small circle joint locks. the stick fighting bit of kali is pretty cool and looks far more practical than the fuk sao looking wrist grabby shit. that nonsense would buy you a collapsed lung, trying to intercept somebodies wrist as they lunge at you. lol, good fucking luck with that

    • if someone is charging you with a knife you run, now if someone is holding a knife to scare/rob you, you just need to wait for them to make the first movemoldero
    • then counter, thats it, its easy, focus more on defensive knife fightingmoldero
    • defensive knife fighting isnt blocking btw, its basically waiting for him to get into various offensive positions that leave him wide openmoldero
    • seriously man, look deeper into it, you'd dig itmoldero

I had a few hairy moments in my life... a few years ago a dude
tried to stab be after he thought i was talking the piss outta him on the bus at 9am!

He waited as the bus emptied then started chatting some bullshit about me chatting shit about him... I told him to get real and i aint got time as im late for work. As i'm walking away i hear some chick scream, so turn round and feel some brush pass me.

The nigga tried to stab me!

if i'd turned the other way that blade would have been in my gut.
i fucking snapped, kicked the knive outta his hand and BAM uppercut straight into the shop shutters... he's was out cold.
everyone is freaking out the bus driver calls the police, everyone asking me if i was okay... the wanker gets up runs off LOL

so after the crap with the old bill, i go to work and it all dawns on me and get a bit freak out and go home...

Oh and it was my birthday. True story
