So back to topic, why has my photograph turned into an LSD ridden street scene?
- ********0
why did you put it up on your site as "art" ?

i'd like to know if you find out... good luck trying to find a straight answer here. it's been crazy lately.

Why not shoot on another SD card and see what it does?
- acrossthesea0
I think the camera is busted. I'd think a faulty SD card would produce a corrupt (not easily openable) file.

hm, if it were the camera surely it'd happen on every image?

seriously .. http://www.craigatkinson.co.uk/c…
why did you put that up on your site as "art" ?
it is just a problem with your sd card. are you that desperate for content?
- Atkinson0
@ecorrell, did I put it up as "art"? I didn't.
By using quotation marks I'm assuming you are quoting me. No where does it say the photograph is art, and never did I suggest it was "art". I even titled the blog post, "Corrupt", to suggest the corruption of the image.
However, if I decide it is "art" can you give me a good reason why it isn't? Are you suggesting mistakes can not be art? If so I suggest you take a look at the formation of ideas in the creative industries from the past two centuries.
Also, around "art book", why the use of quotation marks?
To answer your other question, no, I'm not desperate for content, just curious as to what caused the image to become corrupt. If I know how it happens then maybe I'll use the method again, just for you.
I hope that answers your three questions above and I look forward to your fourth.

@Miesfan Only on the mac. CR2 file, same size as the others, taken along side a jpeg. I've taken 200 shots today on the same card, just RAW no jpegs, having formatted the card a third time. Working fine today. I hope it's not the camera, will just have to keep an eye on it I guess, it's only happened a few times.

I might have found the problem. I imported the image using Lightroom. Looking at the thumbnail in any Adobe prog I get the same weird effect. When looking in Picasa I do too, but when viewing full size in Picasa it's fine. Maybe it was just an import glitch with LR.

Was this made using the CHDK? Sometime I've gotten weird looking images like that. The CRW was funky and thus the conversion was too.

Likely just a corrupted file. Usually happens when you've download about half and (accidentally) disconnect either one of the drives the file is coming/going to.
You can't get that exciting results doing it. Nothing too artsy if you ask me.
