I just ran two flights of steps to the bathroom in my new Nike kicks while on my super slow AT&T connected iPad!

You know you can count me in!

In. Although, I probably won't finish very close to the top with a wedding and honeymoon smack dab in the middle; especially if evil1 is over 200 miles again.

jimzy: the marathon went well (at least i thought it went pretty good :) my clocked time was 4:14:04, so i was really happy.
i actually got this weird fucked up chest cold/fever/stomach cramp thing two weeks before the marathon. not a big deal, except it lasted an entire week! i was scheduled to run another 20 that weekend and had to back out at mile 3. the pros say you should put in at least 2 twenty mile runs if not 3 before the marathon, but i only managed to get 1 in. everyone made it out to be more than it was, and i just imagined it as another long run. and that is what pretty much got me through it. less thinking about it the better. more zoning out and letting your mind wander to music the better :)

I forgot to do this. Going to the Nike store on Wilshire after work to get the arm band and shoes if needed. Had a question for all of you since you must be Nike fans. I'm normally an Asics user, but need fresh shoes. I like Cushion and am a neutral pronator. What is the best Nike running shoe for you all? I don't care about the fancy features, I just want a good soft shoe with a little return bounce so that I don't get injured from the shoe. Basically trying to protect my knees and hips from the impact. Am running about 5.5-6.5 miles a day for this, 5-6 days a week. Your feedback would be appreciated on reco's.
- i use asics all the time, never got any injuries from running with themjimzy

I've been rocking the Nike Air+ Pegassus for about the last year. although a little heavy, they seem to keep my knees and everything in check (ie. give me enough support and cushion).
what is your height/weight? that will have an impact on the shoes you should get undoubtedly.
- nthkl0
Thanks. I'll ask about that shoe tonight. 5' 11", 180 pounds. Looking to get down to 170 after this challenge.

We love 3d models dissecting the shoe's anatomy, and watching elaborate stories unfold on commercials on how with this particular model (not the one you are using, but this newer one) has nailed the formula that unleashes ultra comfort when running.
We all eat it with a spoon.
Recent studies say:
Dr Daniel Lieberman, professor of biological anthropology at Harvard University, has been studying the growing injury crisis in the developed world for some time and has come to a startling conclusion: ‘A lot of foot and knee injuries currently plaguing us are caused by people running with shoes that actually make our feet weak, cause us to over-pronate (ankle rotation) and give us knee problems.

Is it all a scam?
