Quick question. I am using this code to setup my CSS styles for IE6 and above, can I link up to more then one style sheet at a time with this code or will I have to repeat the code for each style sheet?
And are there any better solutions out there to deal with IE browser.
<!--[if gte IE 6]>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="iespecific.css" />
<![endif]-->

yes, you can put more than one stylesheet in there - in fact, you could put anything in there.
<!--[if gte IE 6]>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="iespecific.css" />
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
alert('blah');
</script>
<title>Page for IE6+</title>
<body>
body for ie6+
</body>
<![endif]-->

* Why would you want more than more stylesheet for IE?
* Why would you _not_ want to provide individual stylesheets for each version of IE?
It's best to treat IE specific CSS as a way to modify your base CSS with specific fixes - rather than produce a whole new set of CSS specifically for those browsers.
- it not a whole new set of CSS for IE. I am tweaking my original CSS to make IE layout work with the shit IE browser. .pillhead
- Fair enough, but divide up your conditional comments .. each version of IE is shit in its own way.lukus_W
- all this if/else crap becomes an updating pain when NEW IE comes out..vaxorcist

I must be doing something wrong then because I cannot get IE6 to see one of the style sheets.

How about a link re-re, so we can actually see what the hell the problem is, instead of throwing darts in the dark....

are you on a pc running the multiple ie app (or a mac running VMWare or the like)? if that's the case, the ie6 stylesheet might just be ignored.
Here's an article that helped me
- ah.... this explains some insanity I experienced... so I got an OLD IE6/XP PC on craigslistvaxorcist

no no no stop that
use dean edwards ie compatibility js on googlecode and fix the inconsistencies afterwards. google isnt even supporting IE6 anymore, why should you?

oh woops, and to be more specific - dont have it be a totally duplicate css file with tweaks added in, only put the fixes/overrides in the ie.css and link it last
