I wouldn't mind coming across the ... thingy (percolator, I suppose) for making Vietnamese coffee. Had it in a restaurant, once; it took the whole meal to perc, but the result was astounding.

Ceramic pour over, rinse filter through the pour over and into your cup to remove paper taste / warm your cup. Use a burr grinder and high quality locally roasted beans, purified and boiled water = an amazingly clean, and fresh cup, every day.
- boiling water is too hot, should be about 196 F / 91 Cacescence

I have a client who is a barista. He swears by filtered for the do it at home stuff. It's possible to get it right every time just by pouring, so you don't need the skills to get a good espresso from a machine. He does filter coffee in his shop and it's pretty much the same setup as above, except he has it sitting on a weighing scales so that everything is perfectly measured.
