Wait — did Obama just diss the iPad?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ytech_ga…"And meanwhile, you're coming of age in a 24/7 media environment that bombards us with all kinds of content and exposes us to all kinds of arguments, some of which don't always rank that high on the truth meter. And with iPods and iPads and Xboxes and PlayStations — none of which I know how to work — information becomes a distraction, a diversion, a form of entertainment, rather than a tool of empowerment, rather than the means of emancipation. So all of this is not only putting pressure on you; it's putting new pressure on our country and on our democracy."

itll do flash devs some good to learn obj-c // c++ etc

oh really ? why? as3 is a great programming language the only problem is the Flash authoring tool and too many people who dont know how to write clean AS code( wich happens with any high level language, eg Java), obj-c is a pile of shit.

I agree, i really enjoy AS dev. I'm not talking about the authouring env but the languages. For one it will allow them to develop apps for Apple platforms. That is probably a big enough decider considering the previous args about managemnt deciding they need to have their flash app on the ipdas etc.
It will help them have a understanding of the code base beneath AS and leverage new features as they get released into Flash that already exist in lower level langs
You get shit devs and shit IDEs with all languages, regardless of the level of the language.

and why Apple didnt just used a disclaimer :"using flash will slow down etc"" or just included a Flash blocker on its Iphone OS? they just want to rule , so you are forced to learn thier tools and dev environment .
