I still don't believe a word of that story,
until someone shows me the body of Gray Powell,
I'm not believing a word of it,- there are pictures of him at Gizmodoernexbcn
- I meant his corpse, noone would survive losing an apple prototype.georgesIII

Utter bullshit.
Nobody would be stupid enough to buy stolen goods and then parade them around on the internet for literally millions of people to see, and if they were stupid enough, the only letter they'd receive would be from apple's lawyers.
Blatant publicity stunt, can't believe people are entertaining any ideas to the contrary.

Why would apple need more publicity, the tech world grinds to a halt when the announce anything. Not everything is a bit marketing conspiracy. Also nobody with common sense would buy stolen goods, I think you are overestimating the intelligence of the average Gizmodo/Gawker employee.

Why is it so important? It's just a cellphone ffs.
Crazy how people are hypnotized by electronic gadgets.Where is your God now?
- It's important because Gizmodo have potentially fucked some poor guys careerPIZZA

publicity stunt? stupidest shit i've ever heard.

Apple doesn't really need this kind of publicity, they have more subtle ways of giving away hints about what's coming, this is dick move by Gizmodo and the guy that found the thing in the bar, that's why I believe personally...

On Gawker network blogs? Not sure what banner advertising costs has to do with it?
I don't think I understand how an average Gawker/Gizmodo employee can get hold of $10k without having to explain what it's for, or alternatively explain what it was for, and then be approved to spend it on stolen goods.

@orrinward Apple phoned Gizmodo and afterwards they were sent thru e-mail that letter as a formal request, that's what the Gizmodo article explains

ok folks, you can all calm down now. I got the inside scoop via a little birdy. this was absolutely not in any way a setup, the guy is terrified about his privacy now as the story grows. you can help out this poor unfortunate soul by letting me know if you see anyone digging up more personal info on him. he's good friends with a number of my close friends, so I'd like to help the guy out if I can. thanks.
