Apple - decent after all

Since November 08 as some of you know I've had 4 mbp replacements. This week the battery on the fourth stopped keeping it's charge. Apple agreed to send me a new battery but I insisted on a refund. I was really pissed off with them and the machine and knew I was asking a bit much for a refund instead of just a replacement battery. I like Apple products generally but thought fuck them and almost bought a vaio. The only reason I didn't was the shop assistant was terrible.
Anyway, today Apple sent me a portable lacie little disk free as an apology, and unexpetedly swapped my mbp late 08 for a brand new i7 one! So,apple all is forgiven and fair do's to you for your service! Just thought I'd share that.

Same thing happened to me a few years back :) never be afraid to email Apple about your woes, they'll rarely back down if your claim is legit and you're sincere.

This is why I pay premium for their products. Its customer service like this that keeps me coming back. I have experienced many instances of Apple replacing or fixing equipment that was a bit out of warranty. I know for every great experience there are horror stories, but for the most part they are a very good.

When my office mac was stolen along with all my purchased music (they also stole our backup time machine - insert joke) I emailed itunes peeps. Although they didn't have too... they credited me all the songs and albums again and gave me additional free credits. Awesome service.

I took my MBP in one day last year to get checked. I'd had it for a while, and it was acting up. They repaired it, but it was still acting less than optimal. I kept going with it, brought it back again, and they attempted a repair again. Everything seemed fine.
Then, three weeks after Apple Care expired, the logic board ate itself alive.
I called and expressed my disappointment (always making sure I'm being nothing but polite). Apple saw that I tried to repair the issue several times under Apple Care, and agreed to replace the logic board, case and monitor for free, and extended my Apple Care agreement for another year.

haha, maybe they are here! @SteveJobs I'm still thinking of the 17", so I'll probably sell this new one. Just need to use it in the mean time. The speed is noticeably faster than my previous one, and the trackpad feels different, smoother.
The new scroll function is v nice, like the iphone.
