battery seems similar to MBP though. I only get 2hrs max. Not often that I'm not near power supply though.
- exactly - I have a customized HP dv7 (256GB SSD, 500 MB SATA, 8GB RAM) - never used the battery =]DoktorDavid
- oops... that would be a 500GB SATA II HDDDoktorDavid

I just called Sony. If I configure a laptop to be the same as their top Vaio it's £100 cheaper and the can take a further £100 off. Sounds good to me - any experience of pre-configured vs self spec laptops?

always done self spec for our office, makes no difference. If you are happy with price go for it, will say it again tho if said laptops aren't going to be used out & about look at Acer

nice one - I'll be taking it to work everyday though

just thinking on - will a self configured laptop be as easy to sell-on?

I went Dell Vostro, a fairly medium-level casing, but you can put as much power as you want in it! I spent £880 on a machine that would have cost £2400 if it had been a Vaio or a Mac, and has a higher res screen
2 years later I'm still using it for print stuff and gaming

just saying we have both, sony build quality is great. gets twatted around and never cares. We have a few pool laptops and my fav is the Acer one, great spec but feels fravile, never broke tho or stopped working
