I'm still waiting for the 'Legend' to come to Canada.

trully impressing
- Hombre_Lobo0
record video at 720p?
amazing. The iphone might be a nice phone, but the camera is such a piece of shit.
- yeah, can't see how the lens can be anything but shite********
- 720p is a waste of storage********
- it did cross my mind, but still impressive. if its H.264 or AVCHD the size wont be an issue.Hombre_Lobo

I was reading an old engadget article from 2008 where they were saying that Apple would likely end the exclusive deal by the end of the year. Then they said it again for 2009. If it ever going to happen?- My contract is up in August with AT&T, if there are no new carriers. Bye bye iPhone...utopian

Wonder if I could unlock one and use it here?

The thing blew me away.
But until you hipster designers insist on it being socially uncool to "make applications" for anything besides apple there will never be an iphone killer regardless of flash ability or better hardware specs.
There. It had to be said. Look at what you made me do. Talk about software importance like it was 2007 again.

- +1 Oh wow, you said it! It's so true!********

^ Peter - Android is rapidly gaining traction as a software platform. Shame the same can't be said about WinMo6.5 which my beloved HD2 runs on.
- I applaud that (and traction). I just ramble on a trend I like to believe I see, sort of like "web 2.0", where everyone have to have an iphone app in their portfolio.Peter
- ...have an iphone app in their portfolio.Peter
- I see your point, it'll be a while before clients catch up with the marketzr
- Not only clients, but designers encouraging clients (& agencies) with the shiny apple reflections and whatnot.Peter

no 3g tho, it works over wimax instead?
dont think one will appear in the uk as we dont have wimax coverage, then again they could create a european version with 3g... im gonna stick with my htc hd2 and hope they get dual boot win/android going soon.

Bonus: you don't need to be a genius to change the battery.

So, maybe I am missing something... but when I travel with my iPhone, I can just pop in a SIM from a local service and avoid roaming. So what has AT&T done that prevents you from doing that with another GSM carrier (T-Mobile)?

Here's the problem with the HTC phones, at least the problems I've noticed while we've had a few to test over here. The touch screen isn't nearly as precise as I'd expect it to be. He's pecking the screen in the video above for a reason, a slight touch won't work, you have to peck the shit out of the screen for the touch to register. It's wildly annoying. Also with these phones it's actually two phones in one. The HTC UI and the Windows Mobile UI. This one might be different I don't know but holy shit having both of the UIs is nuckin futs. The video above looks nice because he's handling all functionality in the HTC side of the UI, the windows 6.5 and 7 side are an abomination. 6.5 especially. Setting up GPS was a joke as half the controls were in HTC, then the other half switched over to Windows and vice versa. And before you use the web you have to turn on some GPS crap that tells Bing where you're located, it's so counter intuitive it was frustrating. So iPhone killer? Hardly.
The one thing I'll say is that the HTC UI is really nice from a visual standpoint, but the functionality is still off. I tap or swipe and the action isn't what I would have expected.
- Actually this uses androidzr
- Is the touchscreen tech issue just engineering or something somehow restricted by Apple patents?ETM
- No. I'm guessing sigg has only tried HTC phones with resistive screenszr
- Also, it seems he doesn't know shit about the systems he loathes so much. (troll)zr
- its not htc ui?********
- It is using HTC sense yeah. I was referring to his illinformed rant about GPSzr
- you can easily update that though********

Bad response time big minus imho.
- ********0
its not the phone its the operating system that will be the iphone killer... i think that android is getting there.
- Killer or just level competitor?ETM
- well i think its a bit better because you have more control, and it syncs with google acounts much better********
- Douglas0
nothing will kill the iphone because it's marketing won't compare to Apple.
- check out google marketing... it comes on every browser********
- yeah, but no "cool" factor.Douglas
- i think my android phone is cooler because i can change the Ui to whatever I want.. but get an iphone if you wanna look like everyone else!********
- look like everyone else!********
- i understand what you're saying, but it's cooler to most when everyone else is doing it.Douglas
- Problem is Google is just not cool. They're seen as functional and reliable, not sexy.ETM
