Here's the problem with the HTC phones, at least the problems I've noticed while we've had a few to test over here. The touch screen isn't nearly as precise as I'd expect it to be. He's pecking the screen in the video above for a reason, a slight touch won't work, you have to peck the shit out of the screen for the touch to register. It's wildly annoying. Also with these phones it's actually two phones in one. The HTC UI and the Windows Mobile UI. This one might be different I don't know but holy shit having both of the UIs is nuckin futs. The video above looks nice because he's handling all functionality in the HTC side of the UI, the windows 6.5 and 7 side are an abomination. 6.5 especially. Setting up GPS was a joke as half the controls were in HTC, then the other half switched over to Windows and vice versa. And before you use the web you have to turn on some GPS crap that tells Bing where you're located, it's so counter intuitive it was frustrating. So iPhone killer? Hardly.
The one thing I'll say is that the HTC UI is really nice from a visual standpoint, but the functionality is still off. I tap or swipe and the action isn't what I would have expected.
- Actually this uses androidzr
- Is the touchscreen tech issue just engineering or something somehow restricted by Apple patents?ETM
- No. I'm guessing sigg has only tried HTC phones with resistive screenszr
- Also, it seems he doesn't know shit about the systems he loathes so much. (troll)zr
- its not htc ui?********
- It is using HTC sense yeah. I was referring to his illinformed rant about GPSzr
- you can easily update that though********
